Open links in a private window

A rule can open its links in a private window. Turn the feature on in Settings > Advanced first. It is off by default.

  1. Open Settings > Advanced.
  2. Turn on Enable private window routing. The help text reads “When enabled, rules can optionally open links in a private or incognito window.”
  3. Open Settings > Rules. Open a rule, or click + to add one.
  4. Under Open in…, choose a browser that supports private windows.
  5. Turn on Open in a private window. The checkbox sits under Open in….
  6. Click Save Rule.

The checkbox appears only when the setting is on and the chosen browser supports private windows. The summary card then ends with “in a private window”. In the Rules list, the rule’s browser name is followed by (Private).

Arc and Dia do not support private windows. For those browsers the checkbox does not appear.

Some presets open links in a private window. See Add a rule from a preset.
