Turn on Prefer native apps
Prefer native apps is off by default. Turn it on to send links for services like Zoom, Figma, and Slack to their desktop app.
- Open Settings > General.
- Turn on Prefer native apps. The row sits above Launch at Login.
The help text under the checkbox reads “Links to services like Zoom, Figma, and Slack will open in their desktop app instead of a browser. Learn more”
What changes
Section titled “What changes”Bouncer keeps a built-in list of apps and the kinds of links each one can open. With the setting on, a link on that list opens in the native app instead of a browser. The app must be installed. If it is not, the link goes to a browser as usual.
Native app routing runs after your rules. A rule that matches the link itself still wins. See How rules and native apps interact.
For the full list of apps and links, see Built-in app routes.
With the setting off
Section titled “With the setting off”Nothing on the built-in list is used. Every link goes to a browser, unless one of your own rules sends it to an app. To do that, see Route any link to any app.
