Route any link to any app

A rule can send a link to any app on your Mac, not only a browser. This works whether Prefer native apps is on or off.

1. Open the rule editor. Go to Settings > Rules and click +, or click Create Rule from ”…” in the menu bar.
2. Paste the link in Example link:.
3. Under Open in…, choose Choose App…. A file dialog opens in your Applications folder.
4. Select the app and click Open. The app appears as the target.
5. Click Save Rule.

The Open in… menu lists native apps that fit the example link first, then your browsers. If the app is already there, choose it and skip the file dialog.

What a rule to an app looks like

A rule to an app has no profile picker and no Open in a private window checkbox. Those options belong to browsers. The summary card reads, for example, “Links matching any Figma link will open in Figma.”

If you pick a browser in the file dialog, Bouncer treats it as a browser target. The profile picker appears as usual.
