Manage your rules
The Rules list in Settings > Rules holds every rule. This page covers the list itself. To change what a rule does, see The rule editor.
Search and filter
Section titled “Search and filter”The filter bar sits above the list. It appears once you have at least one rule.
- Enter text in Search rules… to show rules whose name or pattern contains it. Case does not matter.
- Choose a browser from the Any Browser menu to show only rules that open in that browser.
- Choose a domain from the Any Domain menu to show only rules for that domain. The menu lists the domains in your rules.
When nothing matches, the list reads No Matching Rules. Clear the search field, or set the menus back to Any Browser and Any Domain.
Reorder
Section titled “Reorder”Drag a rule up or down to move it. Bouncer checks rules from the top down, and the first match wins. Put narrow rules above wide ones. See How rules work.
Enable or disable
Section titled “Enable or disable”- Right-click the rule.
- Click Disable. The rule turns dim and Bouncer skips it.
To turn it back on, right-click the rule and click Enable.
Duplicate
Section titled “Duplicate”- Right-click the rule.
- Click Duplicate. The copy appears right under the original. Its name is the original name followed by “copy”.
Delete
Section titled “Delete”- Select the rule.
- Click − under the list. Or right-click the rule and click Delete.
Double-click a rule, or right-click it and click Edit Rule…. The rule editor opens with the rule filled in.
The + and − buttons
Section titled “The + and − buttons”The bar under the list has two small buttons.
- + opens an empty rule editor. Its tooltip is Add Rule. The new rule goes to the top of the list.
- − deletes the selected rules. Its tooltip is Remove Rule.
Next to them are Browse Presets and Find Routing Mistakes. The count at the right reads “N rules”.
